Pineapple

The pineapple is a monocotyledon plant of the Bromeliaceae family, Bromelioideae subfamily. The cultivated pineapple belongs to Ananas comosus species, which includes various fruit varieties.

There are also various wild species that belong to the same kind and group. Being ripe, the fruit has a really acid and often sweetish taste.

In cooking, it can be used as a powerful meat softener. The pulp of the fruit is usually used, but its kernel and peel can be boiled to make juice.
